You will receive a €5 discount on the registration fee if you can present your walking discount pass (Wandelvoordeelpas) issued by the Royal Dutch Walking Association KWbN. There are various local authorities in the Netherlands that provide financial support for residents of limited means so that they can take part in sporting and cultural activities. Ask your local council if they have such a scheme. In Nijmegen, this scheme is called the ‘Meedoenregeling’ (Participation Scheme). For more information, see:

After your registration and payment, you will receive a confirmation of your registration. In My Dashboard, you can check your registration at any time. Your official ticket will be available in My Dashboard during the first week of July.

On the sign-in days on the Sunday and Monday you will have your starting ticket scanned, either on paper or on your smartphone. Without a starting ticket, we will not be able to activate your registration. Please note: if you make any changes to your registration (such as your distance), your starting ticket will also change. Always bring the most recent starting ticket when signing in. You will find your starting ticket in PDF format from the first week of July in My Dashboard.

From 1 March, it will again be possible to submit a request to swap starting groups on My 4Days. You cannot swap starting groups with another walker without going through My 4Days.

• To let other walkers know that you want to switch to another starting group, click the ‘Submit swtich request’ button on My 4Days. Your request to swtich starting group is being processed if the button text has changed to ‘Cancel switch request’.
• You will not immediately be placed in the other starting group - the switch will only be made when another walker makes his or her place available, and it also depends on the number of other outstanding requests.
• As soon as there is a place available in the starting group of your choice, your starting group will automatically be changed in your registration in our records. You will receive a new starting ticket as soon as the switch has been completed. You will find your new starting ticket on My 4Days.
• Please note: if there is no place available in the other starting group, you will not be able to switch starting groups. We know from experience that there are always more requests to go from the ‘Gladiolus’ group to the ‘Walking shoe’ group than the other way round. As a result, there is a long waiting time for a move from ‘Gladiolus’ to ‘Walking shoe’, while requests to move from ‘Walking shoe’ to ‘Gladiolus’ are generally granted right away.
• To withdraw your request to switch starting groups, click the ‘Cancel switch request’ button on My 4Days.
• Requests to switch starting groups can be submitted up to 13 July. After 13 July, all pending requests will be cancelled.

A companion is a person aged eighteen or above who walks the 4Days Marches with you. Such persons cannot be companions and at the same time participate in the event by walking the regulation or extended distance. A companion is not officially a participant and does not receive a reward. 

Parents/guardians of children who turn 12, 13, 14, or 15 this year are allowed to accompany their child on a non-regulation distance. One accompanying adult can be added to the child’s paid registration.

Please note: Participation as a guardian does not count as an official entry, and no reward will be given for this.

No, you can add no more than one companion to a registration. The companion will walk with the young individual (age 11 - 15) during the marching days. You can, however, change companions during the 4Days Marches. To do so, report to the Service Desk with the wristband after a marching day or before your next start with the companion band and the new companion. You will then get a new band for your new companion. 

Parents/guardians of children who will turn 12, 13, 14 or 15 this year are allowed to accompany their child on a non-regulated distance. One accompanying adult can be added to the child’s paid registration. Accompanying adults can be added to a child’s registration via My Dashboard from 16 February until 15 July, 5:00 PM. The requirements an accompanying adult must meet are described in the Regulations for accompanying adults for youth participants.

The cost for adding an accompanying adult is €48, which must be paid immediately via iDEAL or creditcard. An accompanying adult will receive a goodie bag during the registration days and a digital certificate after completing the 4Days Marches. It is also possible to add an accompanying adult during the registration days; in that case, the cost is €64.50.

Please note: participation as an accompanying adult does not count as an official participation, and therefore no award will be granted.

The 4Day Marches has an achievement element and for the participant to be able to deliver the performance required, he or she must be adequately trained and prepared. In some exceptional circumstances, participants with a serious intellectual disability or visual impairment may apply for dispensation under the 4Days Marches Regulations Governing Dispensation to allow them to add a companion. A dispensation request may be submitted (by email or post) once your registration for the 4Day Marches has been accepted.

You can only log in using the most recent password. This password must contain at least 8 characters, including at least 1 upper case letter, 1 lower case letter, 1 number, and 1 symbol. If you did try to log in using the most recent password, check if you have correctly entered any symbols and upper case letters in the password. The password is case-sensitive. Check if you have ‘Caps lock’ on or try it in a different browser or on a different computer.

If you don’t remember your password, request a new one. When opening My 4Days, you will see a white button at the bottom of the screen that says ‘Forgot password’. Click this button and enter your registration number, date of birth and email address. If the details you entered match those in our system, you will automatically receive an email within a few minutes with a link that lets you reset your password. If you have not received this email, check your spam box.

The 4Day Marches has an achievement element and for the participant to be able to deliver the performance required, he or she must be adequately trained and prepared. In some exceptional circumstances, a person with physical or intellectual disability may apply for dispensation in accordance with the Regulations Governing Dispensation. Such exceptional circumstances are in keeping with the internationally recognised norms for sports participation of people with disability.

This ruling does not apply for participants unable to walk the regulation distance owing to medical circumstances (illness). A dispensation request may be submitted (by email or post) once your registration for the 4Day Marches has been accepted.

Dispensation requests must be submitted no later than one week before the first day of walking. After this date, we can no longer guarantee that the request will be processed in time.

There are three different distances in the 4Days Marches: 30, 40 and 50 kilometres. The distance you can walk is determined based on your age and gender. See which distance you can walk:

Ticket transfer

From 2024 onwards, it will no longer be possible to cancel, but you can transfer your ticket instead. If you are unable or unwilling to participate, you can make your registration available again. This can be done once the 4Days Marches is sold out and will be visible on My Dashboard from that moment onwards.

How it works

• Indicate in My Dashboard that you want to transfer your ticket;
• All available tickets will then be displayed on a special page on our site;
• A potential participant can click on a ticket on this page and fill in the necessary details;
• If all the filled-in details are correct, the potential participant can proceed to payment;
• Once the payment is completed, the seller will receive a notification that the ticket has been successfully sold;
• Both the buyer and seller will incur a 5% administration fee for the transaction;
• Only tickets purchased directly from us are transferable.

Parents or supervisors of children aged 12, 13, 14, or 15 this year are allowed to accompany their child on a non-regulatory distance. One supervisor can be added to the paid registration of the child. Supervisors can be added to a child’s registration (born between 2011 & 2014) via My Dashboard.The youth will receive notification about this. This is possible until until July 15 17.00 hrs CET. The conditions for a supervisor are outlined in the Regulations for Companions.

The cost for adding a walking companion is €48, payable immediately via iDEAL or credit card. A walking companion receives a goodie bag during the registration days and a digital certificate upon completing the 4Days Marches. Also during the registration days, it is still possible to add an accompanying walker. The cost will then be €64.50. Note: participation as a companion does not count as official participation, and you will not receive a reward.

If you are taking part in the 4Days Marches as part of a civilian group or military detachment, you will not have to sign in yourself. The group leader or detachment commander will do that for you. They will make sure they have a copy of all group members’ proof of identity when going to sign in the group. The ticket is a confirmation of your registration and must be shown when you check in. We will automatically send you an email as soon as your ticket is available.

After the contact person has created a group, you can view this in My Dashboard. At 'Civilian group' you can see which group you are registered in. You will not receive your own ticket.

The contact person of your group will receive an overview of the group registration in the beginning of July. He or she can then sign in all group participants at the same time.

Your wristband is indispensable during the 4Days Marches. On your wristband, you will see the symbol for your starting group and a bar code. You will need the bar code both at the start in the morning and at the finish in the afternoon. These start and finish scans record whether you completed the route.

When registering the child on the registration days, the accompanying adult must present valid identification and report in person to the registration office, together with the child.

The first walking day will take you to the Betuwe region where you walk over the famous dike between Lent and Oosterhout, past green orchards and through beautiful villages. Balloons, flags, banners and partying spectators colour everything blue as you pass through Elst, in recognition of the two mighty rivers the Waal and the Rhine. 

The second walking day takes you through the Land van Maas en Waal region. You walk through woodland and wetlands, through music-filled villages and over open farmland. Tens of thousands of spectators are waiting for you in the partying town of Wijchen. There is a good chance that, as is the tradition, you will get an apple handed to you. In Nijmegen, in the meantime, everything is turning pink. 

The third walking day will take you to the ‘seven hills of Groesbeek’. You walk along waterways, through woods, over hills, through lovely green villages like Mook and Milsbeek, and past rolling vineyards. Once in Groesbeek, you merge with the spectators into one single, partying mass. And when you leave the town the infamous hills loom before you. Are you ready to defeat them? Day 3 is the ‘queen stage’ of this walking achievement event. 

The fourth and final walking day brings you to the grand entry along Via Gladiola. This morning’s walk takes you through beautiful wetlands. Enjoy the peaceful setting while you can, because once you enter Cuijk you’re swept up into one big party. Your crossing over the River Meuse is a truly special experience: military engineers have constructed a pontoon bridge for you to cross. Once across the bridge, the excitement increases with every step you take. Via Gladiola awaits your arrival!

The 4Days Marches is a walking achievement event. It is compulsory to at least walk your regulation distance. Which distance that is, depends on your year of birth and gender. For all the information about distances, see here:

For male military participants, the regulation distance is 40km. You must, however, carry at least ten kilogrammes of marching kit. This requirement does not apply to civilian participants. For more information, see:

The routes of the 4Days Marches are never exactly 30, 40 or 50 kilometres. Various factors play a role in determining the routes. There are logistical factors like access to the roads and accessibility for security services, for example, but also aesthetic considerations like whether it is a pleasant route with sufficient variation between nature and residential areas, et cetera. The fact that the total distance to be covered may deviate slightly has already been taken into account in the daily time limit for the walk, which is long enough that

Each individual 30 and 40km participant will be given a wristband upon signing in (on Sunday and Monday). All participants need to have the bar code on this wristband scanned at the start. 

Anyone entering the start area for the first starting slot who has not been assigned that starting time will not have their wristband scanned and will be sent away. From a sporting point of view, starting the march without having your bar code scanned is pointless, since disqualification upon arrival at the finish will unfortunately be inevitable. Missing a finish scan can happen. If you think your finish has not been scanned properly, go to the Service Desk at Camp Heumensoord. They will be happy to help you!

Every individual participant receives a checkpoint card upon signing in (on Sunday and Monday) and at the end of each marching day (except Friday). This card can be checked during the day at different places along the route by officials.

At the end of the marching day the checkpoint card has to be handed in at the registration desk. The card will be checked and if approved, the wristband will be scanned and you will receive a checkpoint card for the next day.

All participants in the group will receive a wristband from their group leader or detachment commander. During each walking day, officials will make announced and unannounced inspections at various intervals along the route. The group has to be complete at all of these inspections. It should be noted that group participants should be able to prove their identity when they are requested to do so. For more information, read the Regulations for civilian groups.

We do our best to keep everyone up to date on the accessibility of the city and help you get to your destination during the week of the 4Days Marches. For all the information about road closures, see here: 

You can park your car at the Park & Ride facility on the outskirt of the city. For all the information about parking, see here:

During the 4Days Marches, the public transport operators will do everything they can to get all walkers and visitors to and from Nijmegen. Additional buses and trains will be scheduled and extra-long trains will be running to and from the city. And all transport will run from early in the morning until late in the evening. The start/finish location for the 4Days Marches is at De Wedren car park at the following address:

The start/finish location for military participants is at Camp Heumensoord (Scheidingsweg, Nijmegen).

If you have misplaced your registration number or want to know how many successful participations are recorded under your name, you can request it here.

If you have lost a 4Days Marches Cross or number pin, please send an email to our Service Desk. If we can confirm that you are indeed entitled to the reward, we will let you know how much it will cost. The amount differs per type of reward.

If you would like to have a certificate for a previous participation after all, please send an email to our Service Desk. Certificates can only be ordered for editions of the 4Days Marches from 2008 onwards. More information, such as the costs, can be found by clicking the button below:

The 4Days Marches app is free to download from the Play Store and App Store. It is part of the TRACX platform and developed by Sportunity.

When registering for the 4Days Marches, you have agreed to our privacy regulations. You can read what we use your data for in Sportunity's TRACX privacy statement. You can find this via the settings in the 4Days Marches app.

Since the 4Days Marches app is connected to the Atleta registration platform, which participants used to sign up for the 4Days Marches, your registration number may be automatically linked to your account in the app. If this does not happen automatically, you can manually link it in your profile within the app. This connection allows others to track you live during your walk.

Your registration number is the same as the one you used registering for the 4Days Marches. 

You can choose whether your profile is public or private in the 4Days Marches app settings. If you set your profile to private, you can create a code and share it with friends and family. They will need to enter this code to follow you. If your profile is public, anyone can follow you live without needing a code.

On your profile page, you can see how many followers you have. Click on followers to see who is following you. Here, you can also remove people you don't want following you.

You can also manage who is allowed to track you or not, by setting your profile to private. Only people with a pin code provided by you can track you.

First, download the app. Search for walkers by name or registration number in the app and click ‘volgen’ (track). If you do not already have an account and are not logged in, you do need to enter your name first, so that the person knows you are following them. If the person in question has created a private profile, you will need a PIN code. Ask the walker you want to support to give you this PIN code.

If you have not created an account on the app that your registration number is linked to, you cannot be tracked by anyone.

No, you can only be tracked when you walk the route. If you are not on the route, other people cannot use LiveTracking to see where you are.

In the app, you can switch between each day to view the routes. To do this, go to the LiveTracking page and click on the 'distance' at the bottom left. Here you can view all the routes.

Make sure you have selected the correct day and distance so that the start button appears. You can view this on the LiveTracking page.

You can finish your LiveTracking in three ways:

1. Through the finish scan;
2. By GPS detection on the route;
3. By manually pressing the finish button in the app.

Check that the name and date of birth in your profile match the details you used to register for the 4Days Marches. If you have any questions about the app or experience any problems, please contact team@tracx.events.
