Public transport

During the 4Days Marches, the public transport operators will do everything they can to get all walkers and visitors to and from Nijmegen. Additional buses and trains will be scheduled and extra-long trains will be running to and from the city. And all transport will run from early in the morning until late in the evening. The easiest way to get to and from Nijmegen during the 4Days Marches is by public transport. Whether you are a walker or a supporter, or are just coming for the festivities, public transport will take you right to the heart of the city.

To Nijmegen with NS

During the 4Days Marches and the Vierdaagsefeesten there will be longer and extra (night) trains to bring all walkers, supporters and spectators to their destination. Would you like your trip to go as smoothly as possible? Be well prepared and plan your trip from 10 days before departure in the NS-app or at ns.nl/en. Check again shortly before departure for the most recent information and also check your return trip.

More trains

Special night trains will again be used between Nijmegen and 's-Hertogenbosch, Utrecht Centraal and Zwolle. In addition, the Sprinters to 's-Hertogenbosch and Zutphen will run in a half-hourly service instead of an hourly service. For personal travel advice, check the NS app or ns.nl/en

Maintenance on the tracks

ProRail is working on the tracks on various routes this summer. Check ns.nl/travelinformation to see if the planned work will affect your trip.

OV-chipkaart

If you travel with an OV-Chipkaart, top up the balance in time and avoid long waits at the ticket machine.

To Nijmegen with Arriva 

During the 104th 4Days Marches Arriva will be running extra (night) trains between Arnhem Central and Doetinchem, Tiel, Nijmegen and Venray and longer trains between Nijmegen and Venlo. Also, from Tuesday 19 July to Friday 22 July, there will be an extra ride in the morning for walkers between Elst - Tiel and Arnhem - Doetinchem.

Travel planner or Glimble app

Consult the journey planner shortly before departure or plan your trip via the glimble app. You can buy tickets directly in the app. Click here for more information about Glimble. There is no separate ticket for sale in advance or at the station this year.

Make sure you have a valid ticket. To avoid long queues at the ticket machine, you can plan and book your trip in advance via the new Glimble app. You buy your ticket directly in the app.

To Nijmegen with Breng

During the 4Days Marches you will be transported to the start quickly and relaxed by Breng. Check the travel planner or the special 4Days Marches brochure (Dutcht)  for all information about your trip.

Early buses

Special Early Buses will be available for all walkers from Tuesday, 19 July to and includingto Friday, 22 July, 2022. You can find the routes and departure times in the brochure(Dutcht).

Blarenpas

You will need a special ticket for the Early Buses: the Blarenpas. All other tickets are not valid, including the OV-chipkaart. You can read all about it in the brochure (Dutch).
