No, it is not mandatory. However, if you want others to follow you during your walk, creating an account is necessary.

Since the 4Days Marches app is connected to the Atleta registration platform, which participants used to sign up for the 4Days Marches, your registration number may be automatically linked to your account in the app. If this does not happen automatically, you can manually link it in your profile within the app. This connection allows others to track you live during your walk.

Having trouble linking your registration number? Email team@tracx.events.

Check if the details in your app account exactly match the details you provided when registering for the 4Days Marches. Make sure your email address and date of birth are identical.

Check your GPS settings to ensure others can follow you properly:

For Android users: Go to Settings > Apps > 4Daagse > Permissions > Enable location. Ensure the 4Days Marches app has permission to use GPS in the background.

For iPhone users: Go to Settings > Scroll down > 4Daagse app > Location and set it to 'Always'. Also, enable 'Precise Location'.

Note! Do not enable battery-saving mode, as this may turn off GPS after some time. For more details on GPS settings and troubleshooting for specific phone models, read this article.

Before you start your walk, always check if your GPS is active. When you press 'Start' (1), you will get a notification if your GPS is not yet active (2). If you see this notification, follow the instructions above. If you see a green GPS icon at the top right of your screen after starting (3), your GPS is correctly set up. If the icon is red, you still need to adjust your GPS settings.

When you scan your wristband at the start, your LiveTracking will usually begin automatically in the app. However, due to high scanning activity, your scan may take some time to appear in the app. Always check in the app after scanning to ensure tracking has started. If you don’t do this, your fans may not be able to follow you.

  1. Go to LiveTracking/Follow to open the map.
  2. Select your distance (bottom left).
  3. Before the start of each day, a countdown clock will appear at the top.
  4. Once your official start time arrives, press the start button (top right). Only press this when you are at the start location. Your LiveTracking will then begin.

You can start LiveTracking anywhere on the course, so you can choose to share only your final kilometers. You can also pause LiveTracking during breaks, but make sure to reactivate it afterward.

Good to know: The start button becomes active 30 minutes before your official start time. You will not be able to use it before then.

The app uses different colors to indicate whether your GPS is active and when your location was last updated. This allows your fans to see how recent your displayed location is.

You can choose whether your profile is public or private in the 4Days Marches app settings. If you set your profile to private, you can create a code and share it with friends and family. They will need to enter this code to follow you. If your profile is public, anyone can follow you live without needing a code.
