Story of Tijn
"It's nice to get that appreciation directly from the people!"
In recent weeks, we have received multiple reports regarding the use of so-called 'bots' during the transfer of entry tickets via our website. As the organizers of the 4Days Marches, we take these reports very seriously.
We are aware of several parties offering online ticket services who use automated software to quickly ‘claim’ and resell entry tickets. This puts participants who try to obtain a ticket through regular means at a disadvantage.
In cooperation with our ticketing partner Atleta, we have already implemented measures to limit this unwanted use. These changes have had a demonstrable impact. However, in some cases, it remains possible for ticket bots to reserve a released ticket before others can. This situation is disappointing for us as organizers, as well as for the many potential participants for whom the ticket transfer option is genuinely intended.
Until now, we have made no public statements on this matter, as we first wanted to seek both technical and legal advice. We have now engaged legal counsel and are taking concrete steps to address these practices.
Tickets obtained through such commercial bot services are, in our opinion, acquired unlawfully. As of the date of this announcement (22-05-2025), we will invalidate any tickets that can be proven to have changed hands via intermediaries. We advise all walkers looking for a 4Days Marches ticket not to use services that act as intermediaries.
We are committed to keeping the 4Days Marches fair and accessible. Together with Atleta, we are working on improvements to the ticket transfer process for 2026. Due to the annual nature of the event, this requires careful preparation. We will provide further information before the registration period for the 2026 edition.
