Story of Jeroen from LOWA
“It is truly wonderful to experience that sense of carefreeness among the participants.”
Stichting DE 4DAAGSE will open registration for the 108th edition of the walking event on Monday 26 January 2026 at 10:00 hrs CET. The registration fee remains €120, the same as last year.
Two registration periods
As in previous years, registration will take place in two phases:
Period 1: From Monday 26 January, 10:00 hrs CET until Friday 6 February, 17:00 hrs CET, or until the maximum number of participants is reached. This period is accessible to walkers who have successfully participated in the 4Days Marches at least once in the past 10 years and to young people born between 2008 and 2014.
Period 2: For all interested parties, starts on Monday 9 February, 10:00 hrs CET until Friday 5 June, 17:00 hrs CET, or until the maximum number of 47,000 participants is reached.
Registration fee
The registration fee remains €120, the same as in 2025. “For 2026, we have been able to realise an appropriate budget, which allows the registration fee to remain unchanged. In previous years, this was not possible due to several cost increases, investments, and new legislation,” says march leader Henny Sackers.
Changes
For period 1, several changes have been made compared to last year. This phase is now exclusively intended for walkers who have successfully participated at least once in the past ten years at their regulatory distance. For civilian groups, registration in this first period is no longer possible; they can register as a group after the registration period by contacting the Service Desk, no later than Friday 5 June 2026 at 17:00 hrs CET.
In addition, in collaboration with ticket partner Atleta, the transfer system has been further improved. Once the 4Days Marches is sold out, participants can safely transfer their ticket via the official platform on the 4Days Marches website. For 2026, a waiting list system will be introduced, making transfers safer and ensuring that potential participants do not have to constantly monitor whether a ticket becomes available.
The start procedure remains largely the same as in previous years. Some optimisations ensure better flow and less waiting time. Start sections will be further optimised and extra attention will be paid to preventing queue jumping.
Prize draw:
win the first starting tickets! Four lucky walkers have a chance to win a starting ticket even before official registration. Today, Monday 15 December, two tickets are hidden in Nijmegen. These can be found via hints shared through the 4Days Marches social media channels. And from Tuesday 16 December, two more tickets can be won through an online campaign, so walkers outside Nijmegen can also participate.
First hint: “From start to milestone along the way: this location remains a (silent) witness of the 4Days Marches....”
All details about the registration procedure will be available from 15 December 2025, 15:00 hrs CET on the website, app, and social media channels of the 4Days Marches.
