Public Transportation

Additional buses and trains will run in and around Nijmegen for the duration of the Four Days Marches. The city is therefore best accessed by public transport. Whether you are a walker, supporter or partygoer, public transport will take you to the heart of the city.

Travel to Nijmegen by NS

During the Four Days Marches and the Vierdaagsefeesten, additional and longer trains will be deployed in order to transport all walkers, supporters and partygoers to their destination. To make sure that your journey will run as smooth as possible, you should prepare your trip by looking at the information offered at (Dutch only). Plan your journey 10 days in advance by using the NS Travel Planner or the NS Xtra app. Revisit these pages shortly before departure in order to see if there are any last minute changes and to plan your return trip.

In 2019, Prorail has planned several renewal activities, which might influence your journey. Please check the scheduled enineering work.

Additional trains

Special night trains will run between Nijmegen and ’s-Hertogenbosch / Utrecht Centraal / Zwolle and commuter trains will be deployed between 's-Hertogenbosch and Zutphen every half hour. For more information, check

Travel to Nijmegen with Breng

The buses of Breng will run according to their regular timetable. Additional early busses will be deployed specifically for the walkers from Tuesday till Friday, which will arrive at the Wedren at 03.50, 04.50 and 05.50 a.m. For partygoers, special night buses will run from Nijmegen to various destinations in the region. Blister Pass

The Nijmegen Four Days Marches Blarenpas, or Blister Pass, is a special bus pass for the week of the Four Days Marches. This Blister Pass is valid for all the early fares from and to Nijmegen but also for all other fares according to the regular timetable during the week of the Four Days Marches. 
Bus company Breng will have an information stand at De Wedren on Sunday 14 July and Monday 15 July. You will be able to buy a Blister Pass there. You will also be able to purchase a Blister Pass at the Breng information kiosk in the concourse of Nijmegen’s Central Station, which will open on Saturday July 13 from 09.00 a.m. - 05.00 p.m. and Monday to Friday and 07.00 a.m. - 07.00 p.m.

Travel to Nijmegen with Arriva

Arriva will also deploy additional trains to and from Nijmegen during the Four Days Marches.
