Visiting our event?
Thousands of people visit Nijmegen during the Four Days Marches to cheer on friends or family, experience this major walking event and enjoy the brilliant atmosphere while some 42,000 walkers from all over the world pass through the region. This huge rush of people to the city asks a lot of the local population's hospitality, as well as the road network and public transport. We therefore advise walkers and spectators to come by public transport or bicycle.
Getting to and around Nijmegen
A special Four Days Marches website run by Nijmegen City Council provides all the information you need about parking, public transport and road closures in Nijmegen during the Four Days Marches. The website is online for the whole of July. You can also click Service > Downloads on our website for documents listing all road closures for each day.
A spot along the route
There is plenty for Four Days Marches visitors to see and do in Nijmegen and the surrounding areas. As well as taking part in all sorts of activities, it is great fun to cheer on the thousands of walkers along the route. Click here for the programme of the municipalities that the routes pass through. If you would like to watch the entry on Friday, we advise you to buy grandstand tickets. Please see the Opening and entry page for more information.
